The Race Across America team is home after an amazing finish! The DurhamCares team crossed the finish line in 4th place on Saturday morning after spending 6 days, 13 hours and 14 minutes biking from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD. In support of the team biking across the country, people from all over Durham came together and never let the stationary bike stop spinning at the American Tobacco Campus! We biked nonstop for 192 hours alongside the team in hopes of raising $100,000 and 5,000 volunteer hours for our nonprofit partners!
Just because the race is over doesn't mean our work is finished! You can still give a donation at www.durhamcares.org/give or you can sign up for Volunteer Match Services and get plugged into the perfect volunteer opportunity! We surpassed both of our goals, raising $104,608 for our partners and having 953 people pledge 9,045 volunteer hours!
Join us as we welcome home the road team and celebrate this epic adventure tomorrow night, June 22nd, at Tyler's Taproom down at the American Tobacco Campus. Come out at 6pm to mingle with the team, hear stories from the road, see some videos from the week and give the team a great welcome home!
